For the most part, being both a film geek and design geek are two completely separate interests of mine that rarely coexist. Occasionally I’ll be enticed by a great poster design, or appreciate the font choice in a title sequence – but usually the two worlds never collide.
However, lately I’ve noticed a trend of artists and designers paying homage to their favorite films in their own creative way. Whether it be the re-imagining of a film’s poster or the designing of a cover for a film’s novelization; I simply can’t get enough of this stuff.
It is in admiration of this movement that I’ve hand picked my favorite 25 Imaginative Illustrations Inspired By Film. Hope you like them.

There don’t seem to be enough print related tutorials online, so in this round up I wanted to cover as many print specific articles as possible. I also wanted to mix in some that weren’t directly print related, but that help create print related products like movie posters, ads, cd covers, etc.
The tutorials in this post cover the use of Photoshop, InDesign, and even Illustrator. I think when learning about print it is important to understand how to use the programs that are designed for print such as InDesign, and not just using Photoshop as a default application for everything. That’s why I tried to round up as many good InDesign tutorials as possible.

Lego creativity is not limited to building bricks and stop motion movies, it extends even to advertising. As with plastic bricks, they can take the simplest concept and often make a powerful and witty statement.
There approach is often minimal, a trait I like, as you will be able to see in the first few images below.
There is no end to Lego creativity.

The Australian artist Patrick Brown really impressed me with his drawing skills. If you play Gran theft Auto you will be amazed how similar his style is to the graphics on the game, and how he also adapts that in other drawings. Awesome work, great inspiration, Enjoy!
